The sky is still very grey with low visibility. Temperatures still lie around 0°C but tending to be positive.
For the first pass through the stage, the stage route was slightly icy. However, the conditions might change for the second run after the 70 competitors went through a first time and while temperatures are getting higher.
For Granberget 1 (SS3), both Citroën crews chose the same "classical" GE type tyres as for the first loop SS1/SS2. Sébastien has kept the same rubber for the following stage (SS4), but Carlos has chosen a different version of this same tyre but with sharper studs. (those used by Markko Märtin on stage 3).
Sébastien Loeb: "I'm wondering if I had the right tyres on stage 3. We had a clean run, making no mistake. The conditions were good but we need to see if they will change. I will keep the same rubber for stage 4 because I think the studs will resist better on the gravel sections".
Carlos Sainz: "In the first pass through the stage, the conditions were identical for all competitors. As I'm running in eighth position on the road, I was a little bit worried it wouldn't be the case. Markko Märtin has set a great time. I don't know whether he can do it again but I'll try to equal that time at least ".
