Re: RallyRACC Catalunya 2016 Day 3
Kahju, üks miulle meeldivatest missioonidest siin foorumis oli väikest prantsuse poissi vahest kaitsta, kui "kurjad" rallifoorumlased talle liiga tahtsid teha, minu silmis põhjuseta. Nüüd peale ühte tegu, on vihatust saanud foorumi poolt armastatud tüüp. Jälle kadus mul tükike motivatsiooni aga pole hullu, loodus ei salli tühja kohta, küll see foorum varsti leiab uue märklaua, kelle pihta nooli visata ja superhero Kidra saab jälle mõne rallimehe kaitsmisele asuda......va Ostberg, tema kaitseks pole mul midagi ütelda.

No seda antikangelast pole vaja kaugelt otsida ju.

Re: RallyRACC Catalunya 2016 Day 3
DMACK Goes Top Despite Rain In Spain
Both DMACK and its top driver Ott Tänak racked up best-ever finishes in Spain and led an FIA World Rally Championship event for the third time this season after blasting through the opening street stage of Rally de España to top the day one overnight classification.
The Estonian, along with co-driver Raigo Mõlder, was top of the class on the 3.2km blast through the streets of Barcelona in his DMACK World Rally Team Ford Fiesta RS WRC. Proving the recent performance improvements of DMACK’s rally tyres, they put on a world-class act in front of thousands of fans.
The only mixed-surface round of the series, Spain’s WRC encounter then switched to a loop of three gravel stages south of the rally base at Salou. But torrential rain had turned the gravel roads into muddy tracks and DMACK’s DMG+2 tyre had to cope with standing water, rutted roads and slimy mud.
This environment, however, was not unfamiliar to DMACK. Back in 2012, the young firm clinched its first ever WRC stage win in Spain in similar conditions. Tänak used the soft compound GS61 tyre for the entire day in a bid to find traction through the slippery surface.
After six stages, with just a mid-day tyre change opportunity, the team’s M-Sport mechanics then set about switching the Fiesta to Tarmac specification during a specially-extended 75 minute service – changing suspension, brakes and tyres ahead of two days of asphalt action.
The race moved to the fast, flowing circuit-like roads around Tarragona where Tänak used the DMT-RC2 asphalt tyre to good effect. Saturday’s eight stages in contrasting warm, dry conditions saw Tänak move up to seventh overall.
Sunday’s final four tests, consisting of two passes through a two-stage loop of traditional Tarmac roads, were completed successfully with Tänak edging up into sixth place. He secured his and DMACK’s best overall result in Spain.
Meanwhile in WRC 2, it was a mix of highs and lows for the Drive DMACK Trophy Team. Norwegians Marius Aasen and Veronica Engan had powered their Fiesta R5 up to third overall on their first Tarmac rally in the category. But a mistake on Saturday forced them into retirement before they returned to get valuable experience today and finish seventh.
Team-mates Sander Pärn and James Morgan also retired on Friday after going off the road but spent time improving their pace and benefitting from two days on asphalt to fine-tune their driving technique on these flowing roads. They ended up eighth in WRC 2.
It was also the final round of the 2016 Drive DMACK Fiesta Trophy. Jon Armstrong and Noel O’Sullivan took the final two prize drives after winning the event but it was Welshmen Osian Pryce and Dale Furniss who sealed the championship title.
Dick Cormack, DMACK managing director, said: “We’ve seen unpredictable weather in Spain before and luckily we have a strong gravel tyre which has delivered in these conditions. The asphalt stages were difficult again but we’re progressing on every event and Ott delivered another strong drive to score his best, and DMACK’s top result in Spain.”
Ott Tänak said: “It was a very tricky event, especially with the rain on Friday, and it was good to lead it briefly at the start. I enjoyed the Tarmac roads, the stages are really nice and flowing here and it’s a good feeling when things are going well. Sixth place means solid points again and we’ve picked up more important experience for next season.”
Marius Aasen said: “Our rally started quite good on the gravel and I was happy with the job as the conditions were really tricky – but we made some good tyre choices. The Tarmac started well and we had moved up to third in WRC 2, which I was happy with. This was my first Tarmac rally in the R5 car so it was important to get experience and make progress.”
Sander Pärn said: “Unfortunately we retied on Friday as we damaged the car, which was a shame as I really wanted to have a strong day on gravel. But it was good to be able to make some progress on Tarmac. I haven’t driven for a long time on Tarmac and I’m always trying to fine-tune the technique required to be fast on these wide flowing stages.”

Võistlusautod lähevad ikka lennukiga.Vahula kirjutas:Testi auto läheb Evensile. Pikamaa autod Austraalias juba.

Re: RallyRACC Catalunya 2016 Day 3
Mikkelsenil sai jah nüüd õnn otsa, teine mees kellel viimasel ajal päris palju joppanud on, on Neuville - Korsikal oli SS8, kus käis tagumise osaga tugevasti seinas, aga ei juhtund midagi(Fordil oleks selle laksu peale kindlasti vedrustus läinud) ja nüüd oli SS5, kus käis esiotsaga vastu puud korralikult, aga ei juhtunud mitte midagi - onboardide pealt on näha, et võttis Tänakult veel peale laksu 10 sekki tagasi järele jäänud katse osaga. Viimasel ajal on Tänak ikka suhteliselt puhtalt sõitnud, isegi selliseid napikaid ei ole olnud, mida teised esiotsa mehed ikka pidevalt teevad(v.a. Ogier muidugi).

It was a difficult rally for me, but it got better with every day! I survived is fair to say! Had some long walks, ran to find a phone signal for Teemu to contact his team, stopped a catalan and spanish men fighthing, a crazy catalan man wanted to run me over, but i solved the problem with 2 km traffic jam and somehow stopped him too. On the last day i saved Martin Martin Prokop lost wheel and some expensive equipment with that and finally made it to the podium! Thank you all!
