Brother Rally New Zealand III päev

Viimane off oli 100% sõitja süü, sellega jääb mõistetamatuks, miks üldse kaardilugeja vahetamisest juttu on.

Re: Brother Rally New Zealand III päev

Re: Brother Rally New Zealand III päev
Late disaster for Tanak
Ford knows that most young rally drivers are going to have a stage in their career where they exasperate with mistakes (you could argue that Ford's current works team leader is still in it...). And with two stages to go in New Zealand, Tanak lived up to the young driver cliche by rolling his M-Sport Ford out of a secure fifth place.
The pressure has been on Tanak to calm his style and deliver some finishes, as eighth in Monte Carlo and fifth in Mexico are the only trouble-free runs of his maiden World Rally Car season so far.
In New Zealand, the young Estonian was delivering one of his best drives yet. Despite having no experience of the Kiwi stages, he was on course for fifth, having kept slightly more experienced team-mate Evgeny Novikov on his toes and stayed clear of charging Citroen young gun Thierry Neuville. Tanak was driving fast, but sensibly, exactly as Ford boss Malcolm Wilson would have wanted. That was until he inverted the car on Puhoi. Tanak and co-driver Kuldar Sikk were unhurt.
Novikov defended his team-mate, saying everyone in the lower top six group had needed to keep pushing hard, with relatively small gaps between Petter Solberg, Novikov, Tanak, Neuville and Dani Sordo in third through seventh positions.
"It was very difficult. The times are very tight here and Ott was very fast," said Novikov. "A small mistake can cause you big problems."
Neuville expressed his sympathy for Tanak, with a slight nod to the fact that his string of stage wins in the Qatar Citroen this morning had probably been bad for Tanak's serenity.
"It was a really great battle. I'm sorry for him, but okay, I'd tried to put pressure on him," said Neuville.
