Vahelduseks lugemist:
SS15 Ehikki
No 16 Jani Paasonen (Skoda Fabia WRC)
We had some marvelous sideways on the stage. I think the spectators deserve us to provide some fun for them!
No 5 Marcus Gronholm (Peugeot 307 WRC)
The rally leader had to run this stage still with only three gears. The engine is on the rev limiter all the time, and its whining terribly because the revs are so high.
No 12 Toni Gardemeister (Skoda Fabia WRC)
I thought we had a puncture on the last stage, but we didnt. I think the wheel alignments may be out now, because the handling is not good.
SERVICE PARK F
No 9 Gilles Panizzi (Mitsubishi Lancer WR04)
The tyres we had were too hard, and no good because there was still a lot of loose gravel on the road. In this rally you have to have a very stable and precise car but this is not what we have yet.
No 15 Francois Duval (Ford Focus RS WRC 04)
The exhaust manifold broke on the second time through Ouninpohja after a jump, although the landing was not particularly hard, so Im not sure where damage came from. The handling has been fine since first thing this morning. We disconnected the front anti-roll bar last night, and since then there has been no understeer. Team boss Malcolm Wilson added: The damage to the exhaust would have cost quite a lot of power, it would have been like losing the turbo, maybe 100hp or so.
No 3 Sebastien Loeb (Citroen Xsara)
I am not surprised that we are not more competive because our pre-event tests have not been perfect. On this type of ground our car is not stable enough.
No 7 Markko Martin (Ford Focus RS WRC 04)
I now have some confidence in the car. It is not that my eyes have improved, just that I am less obsessed about it, and just getting used to it. Even so we are still not able to drive at a winning speed.
No 5 Marcus Gronholm (Peugeot 307 WRC)
With three gears and only five gear changes, and a top speed of only 160kmh on Ouninpohja, I think we have done a good time! We are really lucky to be here. The gearbox was really noisy when it went on SS11. We heard the noise but werent sure what it was. We changed the first gearbox yesterday already because it was noisy. The team will now have to put the original gearbox back in the car.
No 8 Janne Tuohino (Ford Focus RS WRC 04)
I havent done any good times today. On this hard surface which is like tarmac I havent been able to find the correct braking point, I dont know why. Well try to push now.
No 4 Carlos Sainz (Citroen Xsara)
Today is getting better, and the car is more stable under braking, and more stable in the corners. Weve changed a little with the roll-bars, and a little with the suspension, and a little with the shock absorbers.
No 16 Jani Paasonen (Skoda Fabia WRC)
I dont push too hard because its too risky fighting with Sebastien and Carlos. I like the next stage, so there I will push a little bit.
No 17 Daniel Carlsson (Peugeot 206 WRC)
The second time through Ouninpohja was quite a lot more enjoyable to be honest. I knew where the car would lift, and I had better tyres. Then something strange happened 7kms from the finish, and the diff position had changed. I tried to put it back afterwards, but I dont know how it happened.
No 11 Armin Schwarz (Skoda Fabia WRC)
The brakes are still the same. Were trying different pads for better bite. Well just go a very safe speed to get to the finish.
